Context<\/h2>\n

Deschenes Group Inc., one of Canada\u2019s largest independent distributor-wholesalers serving three markets\u2014infrastructure, building mechanics, and electricity, HVAC and automotive parts\u2014mandated Melka Conseil in 2021 to modernize its organizational structure and strengthen its strategic planning approach. At the launch of the first mandate, Deschenes Group already operated 183 points of sale in Canada and 12 branches in the United States, while pursuing an active strategy of acquisitions and organic growth. The company needed to adapt its organizational structure to its new scale and increase its strategic capabilities in a context of accelerated growth and increased complexity.<\/p>\n

Projects<\/h2>\n

What began as a reflection on alignment and organizational structure quickly evolved into a multi-year strategic partnership aimed at supporting the group\u2019s growth and structuring a more rigorous planning approach across the organization. Melka supported the organization through several alignment and strategic planning cycles using a collaborative, fact-based approach:<\/p>\n

  • For each mandate, a collaborative approach was prioritized to maximize alignment among senior management, including cross-functional teams (HR, IT, procurement, marketing and logistics), with the business units.<\/li>\n
  • The structured strategic planning process enabled each business unit to define clear priorities, measurable objectives and initiatives aligned with a coherent corporate strategy.<\/li>\n
  • The approach combined strategic workshops, executive interviews, fact-based analyses and off-site sessions to ensure rigorous decision-making and disciplined execution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div> <\/section>\n\n\n\n

    Results<\/h2>\n

    The partnership strengthened strategic alignment, accelerated decision-making and established a lasting discipline of strategic planning. In 2025, following several acquisitions and sustained organic growth, Groupe Desch\u00eanes reached 236 points of sale and more than 3,850 employees. The organization now benefits from a structure adapted to its size and complexity, better-defined strategic priorities, and a repeatable planning process that supports its long-term growth.<\/p>\n

    To date, Melka has worked on four mandates with our organization. I greatly appreciate its ability to adapt to our reality.
